Sitting confidently in the middle of the mini series, “Inside the Shell II” reminds us of the rolling, bulbous exterior of the Common Whelk. However, inside these robust shells we find the flashes of warm peach and pinks, giving the object a subtle beauty that one may only notice when pausing to admire it. This artwork holds a heavy impasto area to harmoniously counter balance the streak of colour that runs through the built up layers of oil paints.
